Bosco

I was very young in the genocide I am a survivor. My wounds from the genocide came from other people. They threw me in a pit, and they started stoning me. They got distracted, and I was able to escape.

Joseph killed my father. After the genocide, he went to prison,

and when he came back, I wasn't

happy that he was released from prison.

I later found CARSA,and they helped me to overcome trauma. That's when I got the opportunity to share my story.

Eventually, Joseph and I reconciled.

Today, we share food. Sharing food is one of the things that astonishes me.

I think it's amazing how

someone who killed your father can come to your place. It's really powerful.

Joseph

I was in prison twelve years. When I was released, I no longer felt human. I was poor. I was full of shame.

Through CARSA, all the burdens in my life have fallen away.

I finally met with Bosco, and we managed to have a conversation. Bosco said that he didn't think we could even sit together. We became reconnected. We are now open, and we are brothers. You can't give milk to an enemy.

CARSA has helped take me out of loneliness. They see us as humans.

Therese

During the genocide, my heart was very painful, both physically and emotionally.

Much later, Joseph [her husband's killer] came to me and asked for forgiveness. There was no way I couldn't forgive him, since we also wanted peace.

I feel good now. We visit each other, and there is no conflict between us.
